Now On Instagram

Happy Monday all! I've been literally quarantined to my room for the last 4 days with the worst flu ever. It was so severe that my Dr. prescribed Tamiflu. I am happy to report that after a couple of days of feeling like I was on my death bed, I am finally on the upswing! I'm not 100% yet, but I hope to be up and around in the next day or so. My hubby has been a saint taking care of me and kids and pretty much holding down the fort. He is a gem, I tell ya! All this time in bed gave me tons of time to think. While I thought about numerous useless things, I did come to one useful conclusion.

I've had a personal Instagram account for a while, but I finally decided to open an account for my interior design business. I've always struggled with how much of my personal life to share on the blog. I want you to know me for who I really am, but I still have the fear of making myself and my family too "accessible" to the outside world. It may be that I am overly paranoid. I mean, without exception, everyone I have "met" through my blog are the kind of people I would choose to associate with in my day to day life. Truly, I love my readers...all of you!! I've just heard one too many stories of scary things happening to bloggers who were "stalked" through their blogs. It's going to take time for me to feel comfortable enough to fully open up...I hope you can understand. Still, you may have noticed that I don't blog nearly as often as I would like to or should. My design business is booming. It is so much fun and such a blessing, but it doesn't allow me the time I need to blog on a regular basis. There is so much I want to share with you about my design life, but sometimes sitting down to put together a blog post about it is not an option. The solution was Instagram account dedicated to my design life with a little bit of my personal life mixed in. :) This is where I will be sharing the day to day details of my business. You are sure to see everything from fabulous finds while on one of my many shopping trips to watching my local client projects take shape (there are so many that I haven't even had the time to mention here!).  I'm not shutting down the blog or anything, I'll still be posting here every so often, but if you want to see more you can follow me on Instagram @sitamontgomeryinteriors. I just opened my account this morning, so there's not much there yet, but I promise to deliver the goods! Oh, and if you want me to, I'd love to follow you back! :0) Hope to see you on Instagram!

Local Client Project: A Neutral Family Room

A few weeks ago I showed you a sneak peak of a local family room project I have been working on. I am happy to say that the room is almost complete. We just have a few more accessories to add, and then the space will be ready for professional photographers. I snapped a quick picture while I was at my client's home yesterday, and I wanted to share it with you.  Here is what the room looked like when I saw it for the first time...

and here is what it looks like now...

The largest impact in this room was made by the floor to ceiling V-Board we had installed on two of the walls. Painting it a bright white helped create the perfect background for a calming neutral room. I used one of my favorite fabrics, Celerie Kemble's Hot House Flowers in Mineral, to bring in a subtle touch of blue. I also added a bit of soft color through artwork and accessories. I have long said that I will never tire of a beautiful neutral room. My clients are thrilled with the transformation and so am I. I adore the sweet family that resides here. They were a dream to work with. I am so blessed to have such amazing clients. I will share more pictures of this home, including the Dining area and Entry, which I also had the opportunity to design, as soon as I get images back from my photographer.

I hope you are all having a fabulous week!

Las Vegas Market Round-Up

As promised here's a little round-up of some of the fabulous items I spotted while attending Las Vegas Market...

I kinda went ga-ga over these chairs from Mr. Brown. I happen to have client who loves all shades of purple and I am hoping she'll let me use them in her project! I pretty much fell in love with this whole showroom. Couldn't you die over the lighting?!

Lazy Susan never disappoints with their incredible selection of accessories, like this little gold number below...

World's Away also had a fabulous showroom worth drooling over. I particularly loves this silver console table with the marble top...

 and this coffee table, too!

This new to me company, called Square Feathers, makes the most gorgeous pillows! My crappy iPhone picture doesn't do this beauty justice! I want!!

The upholstery and shape of this chair by Four Hands is super fun!

Villa Home is another great resource for affordable stylish pillows.

Good art can be so hard to find. I loved these watercolor prints from Wendover Art.

This mirrored cabinet by Arteriors is a stunner, as are the tray and gold lamp that sit on top of it.

Another fabulous lamp. This one by Worlds Away.

And lastly...Do you all remember my little DIY lamp makeover inspired by Mary McDonald's Annika Table lamp? Well, here is Mary' Lamp...

Here is my DIY version...

And here is what I spotted at the Port 68 showroom...

You know it put a little smile on my face. ;)

If you are interested in any of the items you saw, you can contact me for information.

Master Bedroom Updates and a Frugal Find

Hello Everyone! I'm back from the Las Vegas Market. It was a super fun and productive trip. I am excited to share some of the fabulous things I spotted while I was there with you...later this week! For now, I'm sharing some recent updates I have made to my master bedroom.

I finally added some drapes to my space. I chose Duralee's Loop de Loop fabric in Smoke. I opted for traditional pinch pleat panels. My local fabricator did a wonderful job making them. I think the fabric goes perfectly with the taupe-y gray palette in the room.

I added some artwork to the fireplace wall, including a small grouping of architectural prints of buildings in Germany (where my husband spent 2 years serving a mission for our church), and an over sized canvas floral painting.

Finally, I added this beautiful gray herringbone blanket to my bed.

I have long wanted to add a blanket like this to my bedding and had recently considered buying this one from Serena and Lily.
The almost $400.00 price tag had me second guessing myself...over and over again. So you can imagine the little "happy dance" I did when I spotted this blanket from the Threshold line, while on one of my regular trips to Target.
With a $49.99 price tag for the King size, I snatched it right up! It also comes in these other fabulous colors and patterns....
I've been back to my local Target a few times since I picked mine up and they don't seem to have the blankets in stock anymore. I know that they are still available online, but they are sure to sell fast. Seriously, get yourself'll be glad you did!
