Sita Montgomery Interiors: My New Deck - Outdoor Living Area

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. Today, I am thrilled to share with you the living/seating/conversation are of our new deck. Earlier this year, my husband and I decided that we wanted to add a deck to the middle level of our home. Last year we added an island to the indoor kitchen area on this level and we knew that by adding this new deck, we would finally have the indoor/outdoor entertaining area we have wished for. The main level of our home has a lovely deck off the kitchen, but since our home is 3 stories high, it wasn't possible to put stairs off the deck to access the backyard. The only way to access the backyard is to go all the way down to the bottom level of the house are to walk down a steep set of rock stairs located outside on the side of our home. With the new deck being 12 ft off the ground, we were able to add a spiral staircase to add easy access to the backyard. We are also adding a slide off one side so the kids can get down to the yard without having to climb down the spiral staircase. We are still waiting on the stairs and slide to be installed, but as soon as the new wrought iron railing went in, I couldn't help but set up the living area. I had always imagined a comfortable and beautiful place for our family to gather outside and to entertain. I think the living area is a great start to that. Our deck is roughly 30ft x 15ft, so it is big enough to accommodate separate spaces for dining and living/seating. I am still waiting on a few pieces to complete the dining space, but I will be revealing that very soon. :)

For now, take a look at the living area...

I am so thrilled with how it came together. My family and I have already spent some time on our new deck and we are in love!
