Sita Montgomery Interiors: My Home Office Makeover Reveal

Hello Everyone! I am over the moon excited to reveal my new Home Office to you today. I have always had a vision for my home office, but when we moved into our new construction home, the expenses associated with putting in a yard, among other things, kept me from being able to execute exactly what I wanted in the space. Instead, I decided to create a Budget Friendly Home Office, that I knew would pacify me until we were ready to make the investment in my office space, that was necessary to bring my vision to life. Almost 3 years later, the office that has long lived in my mind, has become a reality. I can honestly say that it was well worth the wait! My home office came together more beautifully than I could have ever imagined. It is a true representation of me and my design aesthetic. I am so grateful to my husband who allowed me to take this room and make it my own. He uses the office too sometimes, but he knows I work from home and wanted me to have a space that inspires me and helps me create. This office does just that.  Now, get ready for some major picture overload! Enjoy!

We took down the board and batten that was previously on the back wall and wallpapered it with a gorgeous aqua metallic sisal wallpaper.

My finish carpenter built these gorgeous custom built in cabinets and shelving. Brass sconces and door hardware are the crowning jewels on them.

These gorgeous Blue and White Ginger Jars are from the fabulous online retailer Kathy Kuo Home and were a major source of inspiration for the room.

The three remaining walls were given a gorgeous trim treatment and a fresh coat of white paint.

New custom drapery dresses up the bay window.

Loving this perfect blue and white chinoiserie pillow from Society Social.

A new desk and chair were also purchased. I added a glass piece to the top of the desk to protect it and keep it in pristine condition. The new desk is also much larger and is not only a better scale for the room, but it also gives me much more room surface area to work on.

I kept one of the office chairs and added a pretty pillow and placed my favorite floor lamp from Ballard Designs next to it. The amazing hourglass brass accent table from Kathy Kuo Home has a horn top and adds depth and richness to the space. It is spectacular in person!

Shelves were styled with blue and white pieces, gold accents and the perfect piece of art from Minted.

The gorgeous rug from Loloi Rugs grounds the space and brings the whole color palette together.

I hope you love my new Home Office as much as I do!

New Construction Project: The Mountain Retreat Project Great Room

Today, I am excited to reveal the great room of one of my recent new construction projects. The Mountain Retreat project is nestled in one of Utah's most beautiful and scenic canyons. The homeowners retained my services during the planning stages of their new home build. I was given the opportunity to work with them and the home builder, Cameo Homes, through every step of the home building process. I always say that I have the best clients in the world, and these clients were no exception. They put their full trust in me to help them bring their vision for a comfortable, contemporary, mountain home to life. I was able to work with the homeowners in selecting all of the exterior and interior finishes, from tile to paint to hardware and everything in between. Furthermore, I was given the opportunity to furnish and decorate this entire home once construction was complete. I have to tell you, these clients were absolutely incredible to work with. They trusted me 100% of the time the entire way through the process. They were confident in my ability to not only bring their vision for their home to life, but to create a home that is representative of their sweet family. I can't begin to thank them enough for that. The end result of our collaboration is a beautiful, fresh, comfortable home, that my clients and their family are sure to enjoy now, and for many years to come.

I really am in love with every inch of this gorgeous home and I have to tell you that Cameo Homes is a dream to work with. Their attention to detail and the pride they take in the homes they build make it no wonder that they are one of Utah's premiere custom home builders. I am currently working on another new construction project with them and once again, the process has been a complete joy. If you are building in Utah, I highly recommend them.

Stay tuned for more reveals from this project, including the entry, office and piano room.

My Master Bedroom Refresh Reveal

After a long hiatus, I am back today to share with you the updates I made to my Master Bedroom. While I really liked the way my bedroom looked before, I never LOVED it. Like the kind of "I want to stay in my room all day" kind of love. So late last year I decided that I was going to change that turn this room into the luxe sanctuary I wanted it to be. In January, I set out to do just that. Although the changes I made aren't huge, the impact of them is. While I felt my room was pretty before, It lacked the some of the sophistication that are a trademark of my designs. Now, this neutral room is calming, fresh, luxe and exudes sophistication. Take a look.

Crisp all white bedding replaced the former bedding which was white, but had a yellow embroidered accent. I also chose to pull the duvet all the way up and just fold the bed blanket at the foot of the bed. I had them flipped flopped before.

I cozied up this little corner of my room with a new gray wing back chair. A new floor lamp, accent table, pouf and a gorgeous metallic pillow from the Piper Collection finish it off.

I purchased a few new pillows for the space. Another one of the metallic beauties from the Piper Collection was added to the bed, giving it the luxe effect I was looking for.

New nightstands purchased from One Kings Lane and were topped with a pair of gorgeous lamps that I picked up from my local Homegoods store.

I replaced my old sunburst mirror with this one that has a convex mirror in the center. The convex mirror gives it that extra special something.

A look at the other side of my room.

Details... the drapery panels were custom made by my fabricator using Duralee's Loop de Loop fabric in smoke. You can purchase the fabric at Onlinefabricstore.net

The best part of this space is all of the morning light that comes pouring in!

I can honestly say that I am 100% pleased with my space. I am very fortunate to have a sweet husband that gives me free reign when it comes to decorating our home. Luckily, he is happy with the space too.

Stay tuned to see more updates of the spaces of my home. You can also follow along on Instagram to see the latest happening in my design life.

Local Client Project Reveal: Not So Girly Girl Teen Bedroom

I'm back today with another local project reveal. A former client of mine contacted me a few months ago and asked me to makeover her 12 year old daughter's bedroom. The catch was that this young lady is a bit of a tomboy and she was very opinionated about what she wanted, no pink, no purple, and no flowers! She did, however, request that I incorporate a very specific shade of electric blue into her room. :) I was up to the challenge!

Since this room was for her daughter, we wanted to be budget conscious, so I kept the cost down by using a few IKEA pieces. We did splurge on the nightstands and a fair amount was also spent on giving the space a fresh coat of paint.

Here is what her room looked like before.....

And now....

She is thrilled with her new room! Her Mom loves it too! It was so much fun to work on this space. I especially love that she had definite ideas of what she wanted and was involved in the design process. I think we mad a great team and her not so girly girl room is perfect representation of who she is! Mission accomplished!
