Hello! Today, I am super excited to share with you this gorgeous Sophisticated and Feminine Office Design Board. As may of you may recall, last fall, my friend Megan from the blog, Honey We're Home, asked me to help her design the nursery for her new baby girl. Megan was participating in the One Room Challenge and wanted to complete the nursery for the challenge. The Nursery turned out beautiful and was even voted one of the Top One Room Challenge Makeovers from the Seasons Past, by House Beautiful! It was super exciting to have one of my designs recognized by them. :)
Megan is participating in the One Room Challenge again and she asked if I would be willing to collaborate with her and help design her home office for this season's challenge. It's been great working with Megan. She and I have a very similar style, so it was easy for me to come up with a concept for her office, I knew she would love. We have spent hours on the phone, talking and texting to come up with an office design that she truly loves. Here is what we came up with...

With 2015 coming to a close, I thought it would be fun to look back on the projects I worked on this past year. One of the biggest projects I undertook, was updating my personal home. I have shared in the past that we purchased our home 3 1/2 years ago, shortly before construction was completed. Although it was a new home, I didn't get to design much of it. As a result, I have been slowly putting my own stamp and style on it since we moved in. This year, my husband and I decided to push through the remaining projects on our wish list. There were many projects on the list, some big and some small. Now that they are all completed, I can truly say that the time and money spent on the projects were well worth it. We really feel as though our home is reflective of who we are as a family. We have always enjoyed our home, but the changes we made have helped us to love and enjoy it to a greater degree.

When I look back on all these projects, I am in awe of all that we accomplished in our home this year. We were living in a construction zone for a majority of the year, but the constant chaos was well worth it. 2015 was a great year for our family, in many ways, and I'm looking forward to what 2016 has in store for us. Happy New Year, friends!
Hello Everyone! I am over the moon excited to reveal my new Home Office to you today. I have always had a vision for my home office, but when we moved into our new construction home, the expenses associated with putting in a yard, among other things, kept me from being able to execute exactly what I wanted in the space. Instead, I decided to create a Budget Friendly Home Office, that I knew would pacify me until we were ready to make the investment in my office space, that was necessary to bring my vision to life. Almost 3 years later, the office that has long lived in my mind, has become a reality. I can honestly say that it was well worth the wait! My home office came together more beautifully than I could have ever imagined. It is a true representation of me and my design aesthetic. I am so grateful to my husband who allowed me to take this room and make it my own. He uses the office too sometimes, but he knows I work from home and wanted me to have a space that inspires me and helps me create. This office does just that. Now, get ready for some major picture overload! Enjoy!
We took down the board and batten that was previously on the back wall and wallpapered it with a gorgeous aqua metallic sisal wallpaper.
My finish carpenter built these gorgeous custom built in cabinets and shelving. Brass sconces and door hardware are the crowning jewels on them.
These gorgeous Blue and White Ginger Jars are from the fabulous online retailer Kathy Kuo Home and were a major source of inspiration for the room.
The three remaining walls were given a gorgeous trim treatment and a fresh coat of white paint.
A new desk and chair were also purchased. I added a glass piece to the top of the desk to protect it and keep it in pristine condition. The new desk is also much larger and is not only a better scale for the room, but it also gives me much more room surface area to work on.
I kept one of the office chairs and added a pretty pillow and placed my favorite floor lamp from Ballard Designs next to it. The amazing hourglass brass accent table from Kathy Kuo Home has a horn top and adds depth and richness to the space. It is spectacular in person!
Shelves were styled with blue and white pieces, gold accents and the perfect piece of art from Minted.
The gorgeous rug from Loloi Rugs grounds the space and brings the whole color palette together.

Happy Monday! I hope you are all off to a great week. Today I want to share with you some updates I have made to my home office over the past few months. I have previously shared my budget home office with you, which I really loved, but always felt it was missing something. I quickly realized that what the office needed was so depth and interest. I knew the easiest way to achieve that would be to add some gold into the space. The silver, while pretty, left the space feeling a little cold. I started with transforming my silver Ikea Vitssjo by giving it a dose of Antique gold Rubb n' Buff. I also spray painted the Ikea Ribba Frames that hang above the board and batten wall treatment with Design Masters Gold Medal spray paint (the absolute best gold spray paint, IMO). I also changed up the O'verlays on my DIY painted file cabinet with a shot of the gold spray paint. The biggest change you will see is the addition of a seating area on one side of the room that was previously empty. I love having the extra seating in there so my hubby and kids can come hang out with me when I am in the office working away. Another change I made was replacing my desk chair and the extra chair in the corner of the room. Both of those chairs were actually extra dining chairs and I wanted to replace them with something specifically for the office. The rest off the updates came in the form of adding new accessories, mostly in a gold, brass, white and blue color palette. The changes are subtle, but I think the addition of the gold elements really enhanced the space. Take a look...
